HP DeskJet 3755 All-in-One Printer

I used my printer regularly and I tried to print something yesterday, but nothing showed up. So I print one alignment page but only line D, J, M and N are successfully printed out. And line A, B are printed without letter A and B. Then I tried cleaning the printhead, but the page was printed with faint colour. I also clean the ink cartridge to make sure the ink flows normally and put them back. There's sufficient ink according to the panel and Instant Ink. What should I do next to fix the problem?

Hi @aresapie

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing several issues with your HP DeskJet 3755, including missing or faint text and alignment problems. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem.

1. Check for Ink Cartridge Issues

Even though the ink levels are showing as sufficient, there could still be issues with the ink cartridges themselves, especially with clogged nozzles or a faulty cartridge. Here’s what you can do:

Inspect the Ink Cartridges: Remove the ink cartridges and check if there is any visible damage or leakage. If the cartridges are damaged, you may need to replace them.

Reinstall the Cartridges: After inspecting, reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are seated properly and making good contact with the printer.

Check for Residual Ink or Debris: Check the area around the cartridge compartment for any residual ink or debris that might be affecting the cartridge or printhead. Clean it gently with a lint-free cloth if necessary.

2. Clean the Printhead Thoroughly

It seems like you've already tried cleaning the printhead, but since the problem persists, you might need to repeat the process using a more thorough approach.

Run the Printer’s Built-In Cleaning Cycle Again: Go to your printer settings on your computer or through the printer’s control panel to run the printhead cleaning cycle. This can help clear any ink blockages in the nozzles.

Manual Cleaning: If the automated cleaning didn't work, consider manually cleaning the printhead:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges.
  3. Dampen a lint-free cloth or paper towel with warm water (distilled is best).
  4. Gently wipe the printhead (the metal contact area where the ink comes out) with the damp cloth.
  5. Let it dry before reinstalling the cartridges and running the cleaning cycle again.

3. Align the Printer Again

Since your alignment page printed only partially, the printer may not be properly aligned. Re-run the alignment process to ensure it’s correctly calibrated:

Automatic Alignment: After performing the cleaning, print a new alignment page. You can usually trigger this from the printer’s control panel or by selecting the “align” option in your printer settings on the computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
