Do you have to subscribe to smart ink to use your printer?

I have a Deskjet 2721e printer, which is just out of manufacturer's warranty, and I want to know if you have to extend your warranty and subscribe to smart ink in order to use it?

No.

Warranty is always temporary anyway.

No.

Instant Ink is a print-by-page subscription.

Instant Ink subscription is optional - always.

What if?

There are caveats to having  and then cancelling  an Instant Ink subscription.
