Downgrade Firmway for 8710

I once again have ink cartridges that will not work because I upgraded my firmware.  I want to downgrade my firmware so I can use my non-HP cartridges on my 8710.  Everything I've tried so far does not work. The 8710 has been great over the years, but I am running out of patience with this ink situation.
