Hi @Hagrid1 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating when your printer starts producing dull colors. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the new color ink cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink. Most printers have an option to check ink levels, either on the printer itself or through the printer software on your computer.

Use Genuine Cartridges: Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges may not provide the same print quality and can cause issues.

Print Quality Diagnostic Page: Since you've already run the clean cartridges setting, try printing a diagnostic page to identify any specific color alignment or printhead issues. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel or software on your computer.

Calibrate the Printer: Printers often have a calibration or color alignment feature. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to calibrate the color settings. This can help ensure accurate color reproduction.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers for your printer installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers if needed.

Check Printer Settings: Verify that your printer settings are configured correctly. Ensure that you are using the appropriate color settings for your printing needs (e.g., color printing rather than grayscale).

Check Paper and Print Settings: Ensure that you are using the correct type of paper for your print job. Also, check the print settings to make sure they match the type of paper you are using.

Perform a Deep Cleaning: If the issue persists, try performing a deep cleaning or printhead alignment. These options are usually available in the printer settings on your computer or the printer's control panel.

Inspect for Physical Issues: Examine the printhead and other components for any visible issues, such as dried ink or debris. If you see any, carefully clean them according to the printer manual's instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
