Officejet Pro 9022

Hi
I own a Officejet Pro 9022 - lately it seems that the duplex functionality is not working as expected. It seems that the pages are not aligned. If I print a document with 2 pages - and use Duplex (Flip on long edge). Page 1 is printed lower on the page than page 2 - any idea how to fix it?

Can I clean the duplex unit somehow?

Hi @PESDK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the duplex unit might indeed need some cleaning or adjustment. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue.

  • Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions: Make sure there are no bits of paper or other debris stuck in the duplex unit that could be causing the misalignment.
  • Verify Paper Settings: Ensure that the paper size and type settings in both your printer and your computer's printer settings match the paper you are using. Sometimes, incorrect settings can lead to alignment issues.
  • Clean the Rollers and Paper Path: Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to gently clean the rollers and the paper path in the duplex unit. Dust and debris buildup can affect the alignment of the pages.
  • Calibrate the Printer: Some printers have a calibration or alignment function in their settings menu. Check your printer's user manual to see if there's a calibration option available and follow the instructions to perform it.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can address performance issues and improve overall functionality.
  • Reset Printer Settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. This can often resolve software-related issues that might be causing the misalignment.

If after trying these steps the issue persists, it might be a hardware problem with the duplex unit itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
