I really need some help and appreciate advice that worked for someone, as the internet is full of solutions that don't work on my HP 8028 printer.
Dynamic Security enabled printers: How to disable this on my HP 8028 printer. The printer always worked with NON HP cartridges and now has completely rejected them and will not print unless i install Genuine HP. Very upsetting that i have to take time to resolve a problem I never had.
Thx
Tom

Hi @callafriend,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the frustration you're experiencing with your HP printer suddenly rejecting non-HP cartridges due to Dynamic Security. Here's a step-by-step guide to potentially disable Dynamic Security on your HP 8028 printer.
- Update Firmware (Optional): Sometimes, HP releases firmware updates that may disable Dynamic Security. Check if there are any available updates for your printer model on the HP website and follow the instructions to update the firmware.
- Roll Back Firmware (If applicable): If you've recently updated the firmware and started experiencing this issue, you might consider rolling back to a previous firmware version. However, be cautious with this step as it might not be possible with all printers, and it could potentially cause other issues.
- Use Genuine HP Cartridges (Temporary Solution): If none of the above options work, you might have to resort to using genuine HP cartridges until a viable solution is found. This is not an ideal solution, especially if you prefer using non-HP cartridges, but it can keep your printer operational in the meantime.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
