After successful installation, setup and printing some 80 odd pages, the black ink was out and needed replacing.

So I bought a new 934XL cartridge (as suggested in the utility's supply options) - but it is NOT RECOGNIZED!

I did all the stuff recommended - update firmware, reboot printer, clean electrical contacts. Still no go.

What can I do (except trashing a brand new printer) ?

Thanks for contacting!

I managed to solve my problem by returning the cartridge as 'defective' to the shop and getting refunded.

Then I bought a standard 934  - and this is functioning correctly.

However, I'd still like to know what the most likely problem would have been. Is it possible that the XL doesn't work in this printer?
