E0 error with new 67xl black cartridge on hp deskjet 4155e. That’s the second time I purchased an original cartridge on Amazon and it came with this error. The first time it happened, HP exchanged it for a new one and it worked. This time, the cartridge worked for some time and stopped working. I tried everything the support recommended, from resetting the printer to cleaning the connections. I’ve even tested the cartridge on another printer. Now I’m wondering what to do, since the cartridge stopped working after some time of use.

Hi @Alex_B209 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're dealing with a frustrating issue, especially since this has happened more than once with your HP DeskJet 4155e. An E0 error generally indicates a problem with the ink cartridge, even though you've already tried several troubleshooting steps.
Here are some additional steps you can consider:
1. Check Cartridge Authenticity
- Since you purchased the cartridge from Amazon, ensure it's a genuine HP product. Sometimes, even if the packaging appears legitimate, there could be counterfeit or defective cartridges.
- You can verify the authenticity of the cartridge on the HP website or via the HP Smart app by scanning the QR code on the cartridge packaging.
2. Inspect the Cartridge Contacts and Printer Carriage
- Even though you've cleaned the connections, double-check for any ink residue, dust, or obstructions on both the cartridge and the printer carriage where the cartridge sits.
- Use a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the contacts again.
3. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the printer's internal memory and clear any minor errors.
4. Reinstall the Printer Drivers
- Uninstall the printer from your computer and reinstall it using the latest drivers from the HP website. This can sometimes resolve communication issues between the printer and the cartridge.
5. Try a Different Cartridge
- Since the issue persists with the 67xl cartridge, try using a regular HP 67 cartridge if you have one available. This can help determine if the problem is with the printer or the specific cartridge type.
6. Check Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues with cartridges.

I hope this helps.
