product printing blank pages

I troubleshooter, checked and updated software and drivers, cleaned cartridges and whatever else was suggested in the last 2 days. HP Stated expired and warranty expired in 2001. Printer worked a few weeks ago.

@Steph187, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Envy 5010 printer not printing!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since your HP ENVY 5010 is printing blank pages despite all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, here are some additional things you can check:

1. Check Ink Levels & Replace Cartridges

  • If your ink levels are low or the cartridges are dried out, even cleaning won't help.
  • Try replacing the ink cartridges with new, genuine HP cartridges.

2. Check Printhead Nozzles

  • If ink cartridges are fine, the printhead might be clogged.
  • Run the "Deep Cleaning" or "Printhead Cleaning" option from the HP Printer Assistant or HP Smart App.
  • If possible, manually remove the printhead and clean it with a lint-free cloth and distilled water (don’t use tap water or alcohol).

3. Print a Test Page

  • Try printing a self-test page or diagnostic report directly from the printer:
    • On the printer: Go to Setup > Tools > Print Quality Report
    • If it prints fine, then the issue might be with the software or settings.

4. Try Different Paper & Settings

  • Ensure that you're using the right paper type (plain paper, not photo paper or glossy sheets).
  • Check if the printer is set to Draft Mode—if so, change it to Normal or Best quality.

5. Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer from power and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then reconnect and turn it on.
  • Reset to factory settings:
    • Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults

6. Reinstall HP Software

  • Fully uninstall HP drivers and software, then reinstall them from HP’s official website.
  • Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Download Here) to diagnose and fix software-related issues.

7. Try a Different Document/PC

  • Print from another computer or phone to check if the issue is software-related.
  • If PDFs print blank but Word documents don’t, the issue might be with the document format.

If none of these steps work, replacing the cartridges or the printhead is your best bet.

Let me know what you've tried so far, and I can guide you further! 🚀

Take care, and have an amazing day!
