For a long time we couldn't use our printer in Germany. We bought it from Canada in 2019 and we don't want to loose it cause of different region cartridges. And which cartridges will match with the HP65 ones we are not sure.

Could any one help us to replace these alternative cartridges?

Regards.

You will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

Hi Bob,

After a couple of days , finally I reached out right person to reset my printer. Tech was kind. He connected to my computer via a secured HP Support software wich I download it after his prompt. After serial and printer's diagnose he started to put the numbers on regional reset screen , and  after restart the printer, did not recognise the new cartridges. So Tech used different numbers as a last chance. But it did not work too. Than he transfer me to the sales department for buying or asking a price for a new printer.

Mostly what I read from here , do this with tech support from HP. In ,y experiment why did I need HP support to wrack my printer. Why they have only 1 chance to do this reset. Also they should have a strong reset option all the time. Because they are connecting to your PC/Laptop from distance ( Tech used a HP connection after downloading a software from secure web page) so nobody knows which number is that. This is my opinion by the way.

At the end they gave me an option for a new 7220e one for 121 Euro with additional discount after 135 Euro.   Already I paid for new cartridges and they are not useful for me any more. I am very sad about this situation.

Unbelievable wracking experiment and amazing discount for a new printer. I saw same printer for 99.99 with HP+.

What should I do now with a useless printer and new 2 pieces of 304 HP Cartridges?

Hi Bob,

Today I tried to save my printer with factory reset after  checking with old cartridges if recognisable or not. Also with the old ones I saw ''The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" message pop up  before reset. And after reset old ones recognised as previous and gave me very poor print ( Because of dryness). But at least still can be use with 65 cartridges.

Now question is can we do regional reset again ?

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
