I purchased new HP Ink 65 black and 65xL tri-color for my HP ENVY 5052 all in one printer. After installing the cartridge, it keep getting the following error message "Remove or re-install the indicated cartridge" and it gives me the tricolor icon. The black works just fine. I tried removing and re-install several times. I went through all the cartridge error options with the virtual agent online to trouble shoot. Still getting the same message. We reset the cartridge, reset the printer, updated firmware, cleaned electrical contacts. Same message. It registers the black, just not the tricolor.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
