My printer says it is aligning but when it is done it is off by 1/16" or so of an inch.  enough to almost make you dizzy when you look at a page full of text. I have aligned it many times.  Powered it on and off...no use.  Any have this issue and find a fix?

It did not do it on a copy of a calendar I had.  Curious.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

I did what you suggested.  The printer gave me a fit, but I finally got it to work again.  It looks the same.  When I clean the cartridges (which I have done about 5 times now) the black is not solid in the printout.  Could this be a print head issue.  This is frustrating because this printer is not that old.  Can you remove the printheads from this printer for cleaning?

HP Recommended

But if the same does not happen on a copy it can't be a hardware issue. Do you another black cartridge to try with?

This printer does not have a removable printhead.

Ok, I don't have a spare cartridge right now. I will suffer through this one and hope maybe it improves with the next.  I am doing a lot of printing this summer with my job so it won't be long before it will need to be replaced.  Hopefully the situation will fix itself.  I still feel like the printhead may be clogged due to the printout I get when I do the cleaning, but we'll see.  Thanks for your help.
