After being idle for six months, my envy 7100 printer fails alignment and will not print cyan.  Cartridges have been replaced with genuine HP cartridges.  Did three level head clean.  No success.  HP obviously knows about this problem, because they describe it perfectly on the support website.  The solution offered is to contact support, but this is the closest thing I can find to method for contacting support.

Hi @GLinAZ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a well-known issue with the HP Envy 7100 printer where the cyan ink fails to print, and alignment errors occur. Since you've already replaced the cartridges with genuine ones and performed head cleaning multiple times, here are a few more steps you can try to resolve the problem.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any temporary errors in the printer's memory.

Check for Ink Cartridge Protection Tape:

  • Ensure that the protective plastic tape has been removed from the ink cartridges. Sometimes, this can be overlooked when replacing cartridges.

Check for Printhead Issues:

  • If the ink is still not coming through, there could be a blockage in the printhead. Even after cleaning, sometimes the nozzle can remain clogged. If this is the case, you may need to replace the printhead entirely.

Printhead Deep Cleaning:

  • You mentioned performing three levels of cleaning, but a "deep clean" option may be available in your printer's settings. This is more intensive and may help clear deeper blockages.

Re-run the Alignment:

  • After the printer has been reset and cleaned, try running the alignment again from the printer’s control panel.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your efforts.  I tried all of your suggestions except replacing the printhead.  None had any effect.
