If you have done the cleaning cycles from the printer and have replaced cartridges without success I would suggest the following:
- Remove the color cartridge and gently blot the printhead against a damp tissue. A good cartridge will show a strong blot of cyan, magenta and yellow. Does cyan show up weakly or not at all?
- If the cyan is weak or missing in the blot the following may resolve the issue: get a large cup (an 8oz or larger styrofoam cup works well). Put 1" of very hot, but not boiling, water in the cup. Put the cartridge in the cup with its nozzles facing downward (as it would be in the printer). Let the cartridge soak for fifteen minutes in the hot water, then remove the cartridge and blot it gently. Dry the electrical contacts with a lint-free wipe. Put the cartridge back in the printer and run a cleaning cycle. Is the issue now resolved?
- If the blot test shows a strong blot of cyan, comparable to the yellow and magenta, then the printer hardware may have failed. Are there any error messages?
