Hi @gADO2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with your HP LaserJet MFP M436dn printer, such as system errors indicating IMG not compatible, toner not installed, and printing and copying output being very dark, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot:
1. Check Driver Compatibility:
- Ensure you have the correct HP PCL 6 print driver installed for Windows 10 (64-bit). Visit the HP support website to download the latest driver compatible with your operating system.
- HP LaserJet MFP M436dn Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
2. Toner Installation:
- Check if the toner cartridge is properly installed. Open the printer’s front door to access the toner cartridge. Remove and reinstall it, ensuring it is securely seated.
- If the cartridge is nearly empty or not providing optimal quality, consider replacing it with a new, genuine HP toner cartridge.
3. Adjust Print and Copy Settings:
- For dark printouts, check the printing preferences or settings on your computer:
- Go to ‘Devices and Printers’ in Control Panel.
- Right-click on your HP printer and select ‘Printing Preferences’.
- Adjust brightness and contrast settings under the color management tab.
- Also, verify the settings on the printer’s control panel to ensure they are set to normal or lighter print modes.
4. Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Updating the firmware can resolve many printer issues and improve performance.
- Look for firmware updates on the HP support page for your printer model.
5. Check Paper and Media:
- Ensure you are using the correct type of paper for printing. Using incorrect paper can result in poor print quality.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
