HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

I have a printer HP office jet pro 7740 (Wide format).  Today I ran out of cyan ink and replaced it with a brand new genuine HP cartridge that I purchased about 6 months ago.  The printer gives me an error saying that I have an older generation cartridge that doesn't work in my printer.  That's **bleep** because I bought this cartridge in an 'Office Jet Value Pack 955XL' that came with the other cartridges that are currently still working fine in the printer. Not impressed HP! Bad enough you pay an arm and a leg for ink cartridges, now the printer won't let us use a brand new genuine HP cartridge because it's 6months old!!!!  I'm Livid! I've tried the troubleshooting with the virtual agent and other threads where the suggestion was to remove the power cord and wait 60 sec and re-initialize the printer which did not work.  Can you please help me solve this issue?
