I installed 4 new HP toner cartridges (the first time I replaced them since owning the printer). Everything is fine except that several days later the display screen showed all 4 to be around half empty. We definitely did not print that many pages.
I reviewed the installation instructions and found I was supposed to tip the cartridges back and forth 5-6 times before installing them. I’ve now done that but it hasn’t made any difference in the display.
I guess the possibilities are
- all 4 are defective. This seems unlikely.
- I damaged them by installing without sloshing.
- The display is wildly inaccurate.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this kind of problem?

sorry to drag this out so long…..Yes! I finally found the supplies report. It does show hundreds of pages printed since I installed the new toner. I guess I’ll have to accept that as reality. And I won’t be worrying that something is wrong with my printer
thank you so much for your help.

Thanks for your reply Valsimot. I don’t find a “print supplies status” report on the menu. The printer status report shows total pages printed. It’s 3064, but I believe that’s over the whole life of the printer
