Product: HP ENVY 5020 All-in-One Printer

I recently installed 2 new cartridges - 1 colour, 1 black because the ink monitor and print quality suggested they were needed.

I have since then printed 5 a5 pages with an outline of a table with no data on it - now my black cartridge is almost depleted - any ideas why this is? I can't afford to replace cartridges every 5 pages of printing!
