HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Recently my printer has been printing a message on a separate sheet of paper every time I print a document and is therefore wasting my paper.  Much of the time, I only print documents of 1-3 pages in length.  The message reads:  GET /DevMgmt/ProductStatusDyn.sml  HTTP/1.1 HOST: localhost.   I would like to be able to turn this feature off.  it WASTES too much paper, and I don't need to see it.  I believe it has to do with the HP Ink  membership.  Please help.

@Susan23442, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here's how to resolve the issue where your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer prints an unwanted status message like:

GET /DevMgmt/ProductStatusDyn.sml HTTP/1.1
HOST: localhost

This is typically caused by a misconfigured or corrupted printer driver, or a third-party application (like a monitoring tool or browser extension) sending unintended print jobs.

Steps to Fix the Issue

Uninstall the Existing Printer Driver

  • Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  • Right-click your HP OfficeJet 8015e and select Remove device.
  • Go to Programs and Features and uninstall any HP-related software.

Reinstall Using HP Smart or HP Easy Start

Disable Unnecessary Print Services

  • Open Devices and Printers again.
  • Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Ports tab.
  • Ensure only the correct port (usually USB or WSD) is selected.
  • Uncheck any port labeled "Localhost" or "Standard TCP/IP Port" with suspicious IPs.

Check for Third-Party Software

  • Some browser extensions or monitoring tools (like SNMP managers) may send HTTP requests to the printer.
  • Try printing after disabling browser extensions or security software temporarily.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the HP Support page and download the latest firmware for your printer.

Additional Tips

  • If you're enrolled in HP Instant Ink, ensure your account and printer are properly synced via the HP Smart App.
  • Avoid printing from web browsers directly if the issue persists, try saving as PDF and printing from a PDF viewer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
