I have a new laserjet printer... well it was a store returned item that is out of warranty by a month.  I tried printing and the ink fades from the middle to the right side of the page.  I tried new cartridges and same problem.  All other colors are fine.  I tried Clean Cartridges in the settings but still the ink is the same.  Here is a photo of one page.PXL_20250310_004315590.NIGHT.jpgPXL_20250310_001241109.NIGHT.jpgPXL_20250310_001218161.jpg

@djchitown1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

From the Supply Status Report, it appears that you're using a non-HP ink cartridge, which is the reason for the print quality issues you're experiencing. For the best performance, sharp print quality, and long-term reliability of your printer, I highly recommend switching to a genuine HP ink cartridge. This not only resolves the issue but also ensures your printer stays in top shape for longer! 😊

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I changed out the ink cart and received a new one that is an original HP but I'm still getting some faded print and missing ink. Here is the latest image.

Hi @djchitown1,

I apologize for the misconception.

Try these steps:

Check for Toner Cartridge Issues:

  • Make sure the black toner cartridge is properly installed.
  • Inspect the toner cartridge for any signs of damage or defects.
  • Try shaking the toner cartridge gently to distribute the toner evenly.

Perform Printer Maintenance Tasks:

  • Run the "Clean Page Smudges" routine from your printer settings.
  • You can find this feature by navigating to the printer's control panel under "Settings" and selecting "Printer Maintenance."

Examine the Imaging Drum:

  • For some models, the imaging drum is separate from the toner cartridge. Inspect the drum for any signs of wear or damage.

Update Printer Firmware:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Verify that the print settings on your computer are set correctly for the type of paper you’re using.
  • Make sure the print quality is set to a high level.

Inspect and Clean Printer Components:

  • Check for any debris or foreign objects inside the printer that might obstruct the printing process.
  • Clean the paper feed rollers to ensure proper paper handling and ink distribution.

Perform Diagnostic Report:

  • Print a diagnostic report from the printer settings to identify any specific errors related to print quality.

I hope this helps.

Ok I shook the cart and checked the rollers.  I made sure that the print  quality was high quality.   When I ran the Clean Page option nothing prints on the page.  I made sure that the firmware was up to date.  Any other ideas other than just broad suggestions?

Thanks
