Failure to print in black

The printer has stopped printing in black. I cleaned the print head and contacts and ran the automated printer head tool multiple times. I have now replaced the black cartridge with another, new HP-brand cartridge. The HP Smart software indicated the cartridge is installed correctly and it is full. But, when printing or running the clean cartridge tool, it only prints from the other color cartridges. Printing with just black ink leaves a blank page.

Thank you for pointing me to the Youtube videos, Valsimot. I worked on cleaning the printhead and was amazed at the amount of ink it retains. After a thorough cleaning, however, the printer still refuses to print (functions both nothing prints on the test pages). I'll work on it some more but I'm not hopeful at this point.
