HP DesignJet T790 44-in Printer

HP DesignJet T790 does not print the specified length of 100 cm, but cuts off at 61 cm, the specified roll width.

Everything is displayd correctly in the preview window.

Hi  @Wisibacsi,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that your HP DesignJet is showing the correct 100 cm length in Print Preview, but the printed output is being cut at approximately 61 cm, which matches the roll width. I’ll be glad to help you look into this.

To better assist you, could you kindly confirm the below details?

  • What operating system are you using (Windows or macOS)?
  • Does this happen with all files or only specific drawings/documents?
  • What paper size is selected in the application and in the printer driver?

In the meantime, kindly try these below steps and confirm :

  1. Verify the paper size settings in the printer driver
    • Open the print dialog and review the selected paper size.
    • Ensure a custom paper size or the correct roll paper size is selected rather than a size that matches only the roll width.
  2. Check the orientation and scaling settings
    • Ensure "Fit to Page," "Scale to Fit," or similar scaling settings are configured appropriately.
    • Confirm the document orientation matches the intended output.
  3. Try printing the same file from a different application
    • This can help determine whether the issue is application-related or printer-driver related.
  4. Generate a PDF and print the PDF
    • If the original file is from a CAD or design application, exporting it to PDF and printing the PDF can help isolate the source of the issue.

You can also refer to the link for  HP Designjets - Change Print Settings  -  Click here .

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
