I installed a new black ink cartridge on Sunday, supplied by the Instant Ink programme, and immediately the printer told me that there was a supply system problem.

I reset the printer a few times, reseated the cartridge and tried all the remedies listed in the selp help pages, all to no avail.

I tried to find a contant number so I could report the problem and have a replacement cartridge...no luck with that.

Tried to go through the virtual,m assistant, who was unable to connect me to an operative "due to some malfunction"

I sent a message to the Whatsapp number listed on the HP website, and after a few questions asked by the virtual assistant, I was directed to a human (possibly) operative...this chap, name of Ikbel, took some details from me and said he would be back shortly....that was at11.13 this morning, it's now 16.07 and I've had no reply. To get me back printing, I went to my local Curry's and bought a black cartridge retail (not cheap), but at least I was able to complete a print run I need for this weekend.

What a rigmarole. As I found last year, HP customere support seems to be none existent....I'm now in neeed of a replacement for the faulty cartridge, and I'd love a refund for the cartridge I bought, but I won't hold my breath on that. Is there anywhere I can phone and speak to somone?

Hi @Dave_W64

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you’ve had a very bad experience with the HP Instant Ink program and a faulty cartridge that you have received. Since you’ve already tried reseating the cartridge, restarting the printer, and following HP’s troubleshooting steps without success, I would request you to please follow the steps and the short video to resolve https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAOCpeqkj3I

Restart Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then power it back on.

Reseat Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door, remove the cartridges, and reinstall them firmly.

Clean Cartridge Contacts

  • Use a lint‑free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.

Update Firmware

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists along with the Printer Model.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
