HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

Bought some cheaper ink because it worked on the same printer HP 8710  model in the other office. I put in one yellow off brand cartridge and I got the standard non-HP product detected message, and then "there's a problem with the supply system". "Try replacing.... with a different non-empty cartridge." So I put in an original HP, new, ink cartridge and it still doesn't work. Not for black and white printing, nor copying- not even scanning will work. And I just get the same message over and over. Please don't suggest to turn on and off, or try a different cartridge etc- I did all of it. Question is, Is there a way to reset the security blocks? and is there a way to contact HP about it? Or do I just have to by another printer- which will not be an HP, I can guarantee that- ?
