When I try to install a genuine HP 61 black ink cartridge in my HP Envy 4500 printer I get the message “Incompatible cartridge(s). The Indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer.”
I’ve tried this now with two genuine, new HP 61 cartridges and still get the same message. Staples was generous enough to allow me to exchange the cartridge, but it happened again. I came onto the HP website and tried the hard reset. That did not help. As soon as I put the cartridges in, the same messages appear. I know its the black cartridge, because i used the color cartridge alone for a few days no problem and no messages. I installed the color last Sunday. Previously I had been using the HP61XL but that shouldnt be the problem, HP genuine products shouldnt be unrecognized! There is no way to by pass the error message, hitting OK doesnt release it, so I must take out the black though it SHOULD WORK. What should I do??
