Hi @ShilpiH,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the cartridge error on your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 with the red light blinking on the black cartridge usually indicates one of the following issues:
Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Check the Cartridge Placement
- Open the printer's ink access door.
- Remove the black cartridge and reinsert it properly. Ensure it clicks into place.
- Close the access door and check if the error clears.
2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
- Remove the black cartridge and gently clean the gold-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth and distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Let it dry for a few minutes before reinserting it.
3. Check for Ink Level Issues
- The Ink Tank series uses a continuous ink supply. Check if the black ink tank is filled to the proper level.
- If the ink is too low or the tube has air bubbles, perform an ink system priming (refer to the user manual).
4. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for 2-3 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on to check if the error clears.
5. Use Genuine HP Ink
- If you've refilled the ink improperly or used non-genuine HP ink, the printer might not recognize the cartridge.
6. Check for Firmware Updates
- Connect your printer to a computer and check for firmware updates via HP Smart or HP Support Assistant.
7. Replace the Black Cartridge
- If the cartridge is old, damaged, or not recognized even after cleaning, replacing it with a new HP GT51 black ink cartridge may solve the issue.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
