My Printer does not print black ink. Colour is OK

New cartridge, alligned and cleaned printer heads.

Cleaned contacts. 

Nothing works. Printer is not old. 

Is this another HP printer destined for the bin after only 18 months?

It sounds like you've already taken several troubleshooting steps to address the issue with your HP 2375 printer not printing black ink. If the problem persists despite aligning, cleaning the printheads, and checking the cartridge contacts, there are a few additional things you can try before considering replacing the printer.

 

  • Deep Cleaning: Many printers have a "deep cleaning" option in the maintenance menu. This option performs a more thorough cleaning of the printheads and can sometimes resolve issues with print quality. Check your printer's manual or settings menu for this option and give it a try.
  • Printhead Alignment: Ensure that the printhead is properly aligned. Sometimes misalignment can cause issues with printing, especially if only one color is affected.
  • Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues or bugs that may be causing printing problems.

 

If none of these solutions work and your printer is only 18 months old, it's certainly frustrating. However, it's not necessarily indicative of all HP printers. Some individual units may experience issues, but many others continue to work reliably for years.
