I have an HP 2700 printer, bought in Venezuela. After installing brand new HP-67 cartridges (original) bought thru Amazon US, the printer does not recognize the new cartridges.

Tried to reset the printer (both, using the buttons and powering it off by disconnecting the power cable), to no avail.

Any ideas? This is the second consecutive set of cartridges with this problem.

After many years using HP printers I'm about to throw this one out and buying any other brand that isn't so finicky with it's cartridges.

Hi @luisrod,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Turn the Printer Off and On

  • Turn off the printer, and then turn it on again. Sometimes, a simple restart can help the printer detect new cartridges.

Install the Ink Cartridges Correctly

Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed:

  • Gently pull open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridge by pushing it in to release it, and then pulling it firmly toward you.
  • Insert the cartridge into the slot. Press firmly on the cartridge to ensure proper contact.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door and check if the error message has gone away.

Replace the Ink Cartridges

If the problem persists after attempting the above steps, try replacing the indicated ink cartridge. Follow these instructions:

  • Replace the ink cartridge with another new original cartridge.
  • Ensure you are using compatible cartridges (HP-67 for your model).

Check for Firmware Updates

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

I hope this helps.

I wonder if you really read my original post before sending what looks like a stock answer.

As stated in my post, I already turned off/on the printer in order to try to reset it.

Also, this is the second consecutive set of cartridges with the same problem.

Any other option, other than having to buy another printer (this time, a non HP one)?

Hi @luisrod

Kuroi_Kenshi is away for now; however, I'm @Hawks_Eye, and I'll be happy to help you out!

Thanks for troubleshooting I appreciate all your efforts.

Since the issue persists, seems to be a hardware issue with the printer itself.
