Hello,

I have an HP 3520 problem with a message: "Please use SETUP cartridges that came with the printer". I no longer have the original cartridges. I got new ones at the shop hoping it would solve as well as updated firmware as suggested by HP Virtual Assistance. However, I still have the same message.

Any idea on how to solve this issue?

The ink cartridges that go with the printers are set up ink cartridges that are designed to initialize the printer.

 

There is no option to perform a reset on this model printer to bypass the use of setup ink cartridges. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

I leave in West Australia and could not find any HP service support here.

 

It is shame I could not solve this remotely as the printer is fully functional with brand new cartridges. I don’t think good for the environment for me to buy another one.

 

Any other suggestion?

Although HP printers are sold in Australia I could not find the country in the website provided.

 

I'm still concerned about the environment and the was behind a fully functional printer with HP Cartridges.

 

Any other suggestion we could resolve this via electronic ways? Otherwise I would doubt there is a sustainable approach for use or resources by HP.
