@Aryan662, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Cartridge Installation
- Ensure that the new ink cartridge is properly installed.
- Open the printer and remove the cartridge, then carefully reinsert it to make sure it clicks into place securely.
Inspect the Cartridge for Damage
- Make sure the new ink cartridge is not damaged and that it’s the correct model for your printer.
- Verify that the protective tape has been removed from the new cartridge.
Clean the Contacts
- Gently remove the ink cartridges again and use a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly dampened with water to clean both the electrical contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts in the printer. Let them dry completely before reinserting.
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 1-2 minutes. This can help reset any temporary issues.
- Plug it back in, turn the printer on, and check if the issue persists.

Update Printer Firmware
- Outdated printer firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Go to the HP support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your HP DeskJet 3545. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
Verify the Ink Cartridge is Genuine HP
- If the cartridge is not from HP or is a third-party brand, it could cause the error. Ensure that you purchased a genuine HP cartridge.
- HP printers may not always recognize non-HP cartridges, even if they appear to fit correctly.
Perform a Printer Diagnostic
- HP provides a diagnostic tool that can automatically detect and fix printing issues. You can download and run this tool from HP’s official website.
Test with Another Cartridge
- If possible, try another new or known-good HP ink cartridge. This will help determine whether the issue lies with the cartridge itself or the printer.
