I have a 67XL black cartrige that the printer is telling me that it is not a HP... tho the one that is almost out of ink is the same exact cartridge (bought at the same time) works with no issue...

That’s frustrating—especially since both cartridges were bought together! Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

 

1. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and remove the 67XL black cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the gold-colored contacts on the cartridge.
  • Let it dry for a few minutes, then reinsert it.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try inserting the cartridge again.

3. Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

4. Try a Different Cartridge

  • If possible, test another 67XL black cartridge to see if the issue is specific to this one.
