Hello, I own an HP 4222e printer that no longer detects the ink level of my cartridges. I read on the forum that an OOBE reset might fix this issue, but the instructions need to be shared privately. Could someone please assist me with this process? I’m happy to provide the product number via private message if needed. Thank you in advance!

Hi @Ray2110,

If your HP 4222e printer is not detecting the ink levels of the cartridges, you might consider performing a basic reset of the printer to see if that resolves the issue. Here is a general guide on how to reset your printer:

  1. Turn off your printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for about 60 seconds. This allows any residual electricity in the printer to discharge.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  5. Turn on your printer by pressing the power button again.

After performing these steps, check if the printer detects the ink levels properly. If the issue persists, make sure you are using genuine HP cartridges, as they are specifically designed to provide the best performance and reliability with your printer.

I'm an HP Employee.
