I haven't been able to print properly from my printer at home. Every time I try to print out a Microsoft Word document, it comes out cut off. The top part of the document cuts off. And the alignment is also slightly slanted to the left side. I've tried rebooting my printer, turning it off and on again, realigning the printer, nothing has worked. If you guys have any tips, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi @dpitter101,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 I'd like to help!

I understand the document gets cut off when printing from word

To assist better-

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

Load plain, white paper into the input tray.

Press the Setup button on the printer control panel.

Press the Right Arrow button to select Print Report, and then press OK.

Press the Right Arrow button to select Print Quality, and then press OK.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  Print Quality Issues

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Yes it always prints this way.

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

I’m printing from my HP laptop. I have an HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC.

The quality report shows cartridge and alignment issues.

What are the ink levels in the ink cartridges?

We can try a reset on the printer to resolve the alignment issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi sorry for the very late reply!

My ink levels are okay, and should not cause print quality problems. Ink is genuine HP. Is there a number? I'm not sure.

I'll try the reset instructions I saw in your direct message, the next time I use the printer. I'll let you know what happens next. Thanks.
