I have air bubbles in the link of my black ink. I have tried squeezing out the bubbles it doesn't work. I have an HP 6001 smart tank, and I tried going to setting on the HP smart app and clicking on clean printhead but it still didn't take the air bubbles out. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hi @ashc85,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Air bubbles in the ink line of your HP Smart Tank 6001 can be frustrating, but there are a few methods you can try to resolve this issue.

Check the Ink Tank Levels: Ensure that your ink tanks are filled adequately. Low ink levels can cause air to enter the lines.

Perform a Manual Priming:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer cover to access the ink tanks.
  • Locate the black ink tank and carefully squeeze the tank gently to help push any air bubbles towards the printhead. Be cautious not to apply too much pressure to avoid damaging the tank.
  • Close the cover and plug the printer back in.

Run a Cleaning Cycle:

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel to run a printhead cleaning cycle. This process helps to clear any clogs and can sometimes help dislodge air bubbles.

Inspect for Leaks or Blockages: Check the ink lines for any visible leaks or blockages.

Use the Printhead Cleaning Tool: Some users find success using a printhead cleaning tool to manually clean the nozzles. This can sometimes dislodge stubborn air bubbles or clogs.

Reinstall the Ink Cartridges: Remove the black ink cartridge and reinstall it to ensure a secure connection. Sometimes, a poor connection can cause air to enter the system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

There isn't an actual cartridge for this printer, it is ink that I fill in with a bottle and I don't know how to remove that to get the air bubbles ut.
