Operating System: Chrome OS

I'm having problems getting my printer to print in black.  I get absolutely no black ink on page.  The printer shows that it still has a little ink left in the cartridge but, it's dry.  I have a membership with HP instant ink but, they're not sending a black ink cartridge because my printer isn't telling them a need one.  Yet, I'm out of black ink.  I've tried cleaning, re-aligning,removal and re-inserting.  Nothing seems to help. What to do ?
