After replacing my black ink I received a cartridge error, its not communicating correctly. I put a brand new black ink (color was working fine) . I called and trouble shooted with someone, still and error. When I take out the black and leave the color NO ERROR. Received new black cartridge today and I'm getting the error again.

Hi @ShortyMo,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it must be to keep encountering cartridge errors even after replacing it with a new one. Let’s go through some steps to help resolve the issue.
- Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges or third-party replacements?
- When you insert the black cartridge, does the error message specify any details (e.g., incompatible, not detected, etc.)?
- Have you tried cleaning the cartridge contacts before inserting the new one?
Check and Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the black cartridge and gently clean the metal contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Allow it to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
Inspect the Cartridge for Damage:
- Check the black cartridge for any visible damage, leaks, or missing chips that could prevent proper communication.
- Ensure that any protective tape or packaging has been fully removed.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 2-3 minutes.
- Plug it back in, turn it on, and insert the black cartridge to check if the issue persists.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Sometimes, outdated printer firmware can cause cartridge recognition issues.
- Visit the HP Support page and check for the latest firmware updates for your HP ENVY Photo 6255.
Try Another New Cartridge (if possible):
- Even though the replacement cartridge is new, there could be a batch issue.
- If possible, try using another black cartridge from a different batch or purchase.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
