HP 6950 only prints in pink and quality is faded and streaky. I've replaced cartidges multiple times, cleaned all print heads, restarted many times and can not fix this issue. I'm hoping there's something else I can try, otherwise it's time for a new printer.

Hi @librauno,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting for your HP 6950 printer. Here are a few more steps you can try to address the issue of printing only in pink with faded and streaky quality:
Additional Troubleshooting Steps
Check Ink Levels and Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and securely seated in their respective slots.
- Check the ink levels through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app to verify that the cartridges have sufficient ink.
Print Quality Diagnostic Page:
- Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page from the printer's control panel. This page can help identify specific issues with print quality, such as missing colors or streaks.
- Follow any instructions on the diagnostic page to troubleshoot further.
Clean Printheads Again:
- Perform a deeper cleaning of the printheads using the printer's cleaning utility. This option is often found in the printer's settings or maintenance menu.
- Ensure you follow the specific instructions provided by HP for cleaning printheads.
Align Printheads:
- If your printer has an option to align printheads, use this feature to ensure the printheads are properly aligned for optimal print quality.
Update Firmware:
- Check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can address print quality issues and improve performance.
Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party cartridges or refilled cartridges might not provide optimal print quality or could cause issues with the printer.
Check Paper Quality:
- Use high-quality, recommended printer paper. Poor quality or incompatible paper can affect print quality and cause streaks or faded prints.
Reset Printer:
- Perform a reset of the printer to clear any temporary issues or settings that might be causing the problem. Instructions for resetting can usually be found in the printer's manual or on the HP support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
