Hello all and thanks for the help ,

Bought a second hand HP6978 in V.good condition, without cartridges.

I bought new HP black cartridge from staples, and 3rd party color cartridges from Amazon that cost me 100 $. Printer identified all cartridges with no issues and showing full ink in all.

When printing or copying , i am getting blank pages. I removed cartridges, reset printer, cleaned head, aligned pages again and again, no benefit. I also set printer to accept used cartridges in setting menu.

I dismantled printer and dismantled the printer head, cleaned it. Still getting blank pages.

I thought of buying original HP color cartridges but that would be another 100$

Is it a printer damage or, ink cartridges issue ?? any solution or suggestions ??

thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

This most definitely looks like a cartridge issue since HP does not recommend using non genuine ink as it could damage the printer/printhead.

Do try a HP genuine cartridge and check if the issue persists.

I have the same printer, got it new about 2 years ago. It used to take other brand cartridges, they would act up a fair amount but you could get thru it. Something changed a couple months ago and now it will not accept other brand ink. I have about $50 worth of ink I now cant use and am forced to by HP specific which is a fair bit more expensive (not to mention all the color seems to be out of stock everywhere at the moment).  While the printer itself is ok and does a decent job, I will not buy another HP for this ink reason. Their ink is overpriced and forcing you to use their product only is a bunch of BS.
