Hp 7155

My Hp 7155 is locked up. It makes no sound and is stuck on the start up sequence. It shows one dot and it just stops there. I tried unplugging and waiting several minutes but nothing happened.  The touch screen is unresponsive.

Hi @Riffraff22,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 7155 printer is frozen during the startup sequence and the touchscreen is unresponsive, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 5 minutes to ensure that all residual power is drained from the printer.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Hard Reset:

  • Some printers have a hard reset button. Check your printer's manual to locate it.
  • If your printer doesn't have a hard reset button, perform a hard reset by disconnecting the power source and holding down the power button for about 15 seconds.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website.
  • If possible, update the firmware following the instructions provided by HP.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer. Even a small piece of paper can cause startup issues.

Remove External Devices:

  • If you have any external devices connected to the printer, such as a USB drive or memory card, disconnect them and restart the printer.

Factory Reset (if necessary):

  • As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that this will erase all settings and configurations.
  • Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
