HP 7310 cartridges do not align. Tried reset, no help. Can't get in touch with HP because I can't find my ser. # after looking at ALL their documentation. Could not download auto detect because of error. New printer although it sat in the box for a couple of years. Looks great, but I can't get it to work. Cartridges were sealed although I'm thinking they might be too old.

Hi @6543212,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I Understand you are facing issues with the cartridges. I'll be glad to help you. That said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
1. Cartridge Age and Condition (Assessing the Ink Quality)
- Since the printer sat in the box for a while, have you checked if the expiration date of the cartridges is past due? Even sealed cartridges can dry out or lose effectiveness over time.
- Do you see any error messages related to the cartridges, such as warnings about low ink or incompatible cartridges?
2. Alignment Process (Understanding the Alignment Failure)
- When you tried the alignment process, did the printer print an alignment page? If yes, did the printer fail to read the page when scanning it, or did the alignment process simply not improve the print quality?
3. Cartridge Installation (Ensuring Proper Contact)
- Did you double-check that the cartridges are seated correctly and that there is no residue or debris on the cartridge contacts or printhead? Sometimes, cleaning the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth can improve alignment.
Meanwhile, you may refer to this document.
