I recently replaced my ink cartridges, they are genuine HP cartridges. Since changing, the printer will not align properly even after I run an align cycle. Is there a way to manually align the cartridges? The prints appear similar to 3D drawings with magenta on the left and cyan to the right of the black ink. I've tried multiple new cartridges and nothing is working.

Hi @MEGS2024,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 7645 is experiencing alignment issues even after running the automatic alignment, you can try the following steps to manually align the cartridges and troubleshoot the problem:
1. Print an Alignment Page
- Make sure to print an alignment page if you haven't already:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printer.
2. Check Cartridge Installation
- Remove the cartridges and inspect them:
- Ensure they are properly seated in their slots.
- Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth.
3. Manual Alignment
- While there isn't a direct method for manual alignment like some other printers, you can adjust print quality settings:
- Go to Printer Preferences on your computer.
- Look for settings related to Quality or Advanced options. Adjust the color settings and see if that helps.
4. Perform Printhead Cleaning
- Run a printhead cleaning cycle:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- This can help clear any clogs that may affect alignment.
5. Check for Firmware Updates
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date:
- Visit the HP website to download any available updates for your model.
6. Inspect for Mechanical Issues
- Check the printer for any signs of physical damage or debris that could interfere with the printhead's movement.
7. Try Different Paper
- Sometimes the type of paper can affect print alignment. Try using a different type or brand of paper.
8. Reset the Printer
- Perform a hard reset:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
