HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer

I have read the other comments regarding the HP 8028 suddenly not printing blue colors properly.  I have completed the following steps:

Cleaned the print heads multiples times

Aligned the print heads

Changed the cartridges (HP ink subscriber) even though it was not time to do so.  Probably have messed up my subscription!

Unplugged the printer

Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.

What else is there to do?

Hi @Tavane,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When an HP 8028 printer stops printing blue despite having gone through the usual troubleshooting steps such as cleaning and aligning the print heads, changing cartridges, and reinstalling the printer software, there are a few more strategies you might try to resolve the issue. Here's a list of additional steps you can take:

Check Printer Software Updates: Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. Printer manufacturers often release firmware updates that can resolve printing issues. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.

Inspect the Cartridge Vent: If the vent on the top of the cartridge is clogged or sealed, it can affect ink flow. Carefully inspect the blue cartridge to make sure the vent is clear. You can gently clean the vent with a pin if it's clogged.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges: You've mentioned using HP ink, which is great. Problems can arise with non-HP or refilled cartridges. Since you're an HP ink subscriber, you're likely using genuine products, but it's good to double-check.

Deep Clean the Print Heads: Some printers offer a deeper cleaning option that uses more ink but can resolve stubborn clogs. Look for this option in your printer's maintenance menu.

Manual Cleaning: If allowed by your printer model, you might consider manually cleaning the print heads. This involves removing the print head from the printer and cleaning it with distilled water or a print head cleaning solution. Be cautious with this approach, as improper handling can damage the print head. Check your printer's user manual for guidance.

Check for Mechanical Issues: Sometimes, mechanical problems within the printer can lead to color printing issues. Listen for unusual noises and check if the printer reports any hardware errors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
