I replaced my ink cart in my HP printer 8620. After replacing the black ink cart. I received a message on the screen of the printer saying the ink cart was depleted. I had just opened the ink cart. So I went to the HP site and downloaded the new software that was available for my printer. After updating the software the depleted ink cart message disappeared. I thought all was good to go. Not. I tried to print something and I then received a cartridge problem one or more cartridges appear to be damaged. Remove them and replace them with new cartridges. So I removed all of the cartridges and replaced them with new ones once again. I then turned off the printer and turned it back on. This did me no good either. I am still getting the same message saying that I have damaged ink carts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @shaury79,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's frustrating to encounter cartridge problems with your printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Verify Cartridge Installation:
- Make sure that all cartridges are securely and correctly installed. Ensure that they are snapped into place and that there are no loose connections.
- Double-check that you removed any protective tapes or seals from the new cartridges before installing them.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Remove the cartridges.
- Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and in the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges and powering on the printer.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
- Check if the error persists.
Update Firmware:
- Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620.
- Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the printer firmware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
