HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently replaced all of my old ink cartridges in my HP 8625 Officejet Pro 8625 with new genuine HP 950XL-Z10 and HP 951XL-Z10 ink cartridges.  These cartridges are for US and Canada and I am in the US.  The printer has the latest drivers, firmware etc..  HP recommends the ink cartridges that I purchased for my model printer.  I have reset the printer multiple times, cleaned the ink cartridge connections, removed and reinstalled the new print cartridges.  The old ink cartridges have some ink left and if I add them back the printer sees them without any issues.   I read that in some cases the region needs to be set correctly.  I bought this printer in the US and the new ink cartridges state they are for the US and Canada.  I do not know what region the printer is set to so maybe that is the issue?

We could perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hi @Wh5r43,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To assist better -Could you check if your old cartridges were z20 ink cartridges?

Let me know!

The old cartridges do not say Z10 or Z20  on them.  The just have CN045A (black), CN048A (yellow), CN047A (magenta), Cn046AA (cyan).  The new cartridges have Z10 on them and have an N on the end.  See photo below. Old cartridges on the left.
