Hi @RJIZKS9, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 8702 All-in-One Printer is printing poor quality after changing all cartridges, follow these troubleshooting steps:

Check the Ink Cartridges

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges may cause print quality issues.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly.
  • Clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

Run Printhead Cleaning

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning up to three times if the issue persists.

Check Print Quality Report

  • Print a Print Quality Report:
    • On the control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
    • Check for streaks, missing colors, or faded areas.

Align the Printhead

  • Go to Setup > Tools > Align Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check Paper Type and Print Settings

  • Use the correct paper type for your printing needs (e.g., HP Photo Paper for photos or plain paper for documents).
  • Adjust print settings:
    • In HP Smart or HP Print Driver, go to Printer Properties.
    • Set Print Quality to Best instead of Draft.
    • Make sure the correct paper type is selected.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to HP Support or use HP Smart to check for a firmware update.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
