Hi @RJIZKS9, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 8702 All-in-One Printer is printing poor quality after changing all cartridges, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Check the Ink Cartridges
- Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges may cause print quality issues.
- Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly.
- Clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
Run Printhead Cleaning
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Run the cleaning up to three times if the issue persists.
Check Print Quality Report
- Print a Print Quality Report:
- On the control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
- Check for streaks, missing colors, or faded areas.
Align the Printhead
- Go to Setup > Tools > Align Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check Paper Type and Print Settings
- Use the correct paper type for your printing needs (e.g., HP Photo Paper for photos or plain paper for documents).
- Adjust print settings:
- In HP Smart or HP Print Driver, go to Printer Properties.
- Set Print Quality to Best instead of Draft.
- Make sure the correct paper type is selected.
Update Printer Firmware
- Go to HP Support or use HP Smart to check for a firmware update.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
