I have always been able to print in Black when color cartridges are depleted by selecting the "Print Black Only" button which pops up on the printer.  This morning, I agreed to update the app and my printer will no longer allow me to print in black only without having color cartridges with at least some ink.

 

In reading through the forum, I find mention of this same issue dating back 10 years!!  How can I roll back the update by 1 day?  This is the same as buying a car with power seats, taking it to the dealer for it's recommended oil change, and picking it up to find they have replaced the power seats with manual ones.  I am a business owner and deal with enough legitimate tech issues, without having new tech issues cause intentionally by corporate greed.  I would love to see and attorney start a class-action suit against HP.  I have been a loyal user of HP laptops and printers since the 90's.  HP... I hope your ink sales are making up for all your lost customers!
