HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 (9010 Series)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 (9010 series) that I've paid nearly $300 for. I was assured that 3rd party refilled cartridges were compatible, but disabled automatic firmware updates just in case. Well, when Web Services were enabled, the printer automatically updated anyway and now my cartridges DON'T WORK. I'm furious. I've wasted countless hours trying to undo this. I have work to do! I'm getting a "Non-HP Chip Detected" notice and am blocked from printing.

Has anyone figured out how to DOWNGRADE the firmware on the 9010 series? Does performing either a Factory Reset or a Cold Reset revert to the original shipped firmware? If I can't downgrade or solve this issue, I'm returning this printer and never buying HP again. The privacy invasive HP Smart app was just the start, but I'm not going to deal with this after already paying $300 for the printer.

No reset will help in your case. You will need to search for an older firmware version and run a firmware downgrade.

This is a real conundrum for me. I've been trying to find the older firmware, but it's difficult without version names. Would you happen to know some older version names or where I can find a firmware timeline? Thank you.
