HP Officejet Pro 9015 (Product #; 1KR42A)

Bought a refill kit and followed the instructions for our "962" cartridges.

The printer still sees the cartridges as empty and will only allow printing in black ink.

I've verified the "cartridge protection" is "OFF" (it was "OFF" before we refilled them).

We have three kids in school, so there's a LOT of printing going on, and we'd rather not hemorage cash for replacement printer cartridges when refilling is an option.

Can someone please help with convincing this printer the refilled cartridges are okay?

I'm okay with risking them leaking internally, taking over my computer, spontaneously combusting, or doing whatever nefarious things refilled cartridges supposedly do.

Thanks for the help!!

The information regarding ink level is stored on an electronic circuit (chip) on each ink cartridge, the printer reads ink level from a chip. If you have refilled ink cartridge with ink you have done only half of the job, the second half is to replace the chip if you want the printer to read full ink.

For now, the printer reads the old level that is empty.
