HP Recommended

I bought HP 902XL 2-pack High Yield Cartridges from Sam Club. The first cartridge worked fine on my HP Office Jet Pro 6975.  I have now installed the second cartridge and I get a "Older Generation Cartridges" error message.  The packaging states the Cartridges are 6975 compatible and the first one worked fine. How do I resolve this issue.  The replacement cartridges cost $48.
