After only 7 years since new, my HP 950 printhead has begun oozing black ink onto paper occasionally.  Seems to be not from the nozzles, but from under clear plastic film next to them.  Oozes whether head is in or out of printer.  Is there a hole under this film leading into the nozzle reservoir that has become unsealed?  Is it pluggable?   (Other than this, printer works fine.)

@hjkkxcgfxtrdtr, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP 950 Printhead Oozing Ink Issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It appears that your HP 950 printhead is experiencing leakage, which can occur due to several reasons. While it's difficult to diagnose the exact cause without visual inspection, here are some possible explanations and suggestions for addressing the issue:

Seal Integrity: Over time, seals around the printhead can degrade. This degradation may cause ink to leak from under the clear plastic film. The fact that ink oozes whether the head is in or out of the printer suggests a potential issue with internal seals.

Cracks or Damage: Inspect the printhead for any visible cracks or damage. Sometimes, physical damage can cause ink to leak from areas other than the nozzles.

Clogged Nozzles: Even though you suspect the ink is not coming from the nozzles, clogs can sometimes cause pressure buildup, leading to leaks elsewhere.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
